Mothernode Account Manager
Job Description | Onsite preferred
Join a winning team and help businesses get more from their software. Mothernode is a growing cloud ERP and CRM company serving signage and custom manufacturing businesses. We are looking for an Account Manager who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and helping customers succeed.
You will guide customers from onboarding through their ongoing use of Mothernode and work closely with our product development team. Your practical business experience will help customers connect their everyday operations to software workflows and get meaningful results from the system.
Experience with Mothernode software and experience in the signage industry are strong advantages, but neither is required.
You will build Mothernode expertise through training, observation, and hands-on experience. Starting with your existing business process knowledge, you will gradually take ownership of customer accounts, implementations, and more advanced product work as your confidence grows. Learning our software and each customer’s workflows takes time, and the team will provide guidance along the way.
What you will do
Customer Account Management and Relationships
- Be a dependable point of contact throughout each customer’s subscription, building relationships and understanding their business goals and workflows.
- Answer support questions, troubleshoot software issues, and coordinate additional help when needed. Keep customers informed and follow issues through to resolution.
- Conduct proactive check-ins, identify training needs, and help customers use more of Mothernode’s capabilities. Maintain clear account notes and flag concerns early.
Implementation and Onboarding
- Guide account setup and configuration by understanding how customers work, mapping their business processes to Mothernode, and explaining how software transactions reflect actions such as quoting, fulfilling orders, and using inventory.
- Coordinate implementation meetings, document action items, and track milestones. Keep projects moving by following up on outstanding tasks and communicating delays early.
- Deliver live training and create recorded walkthroughs, videos, and practical instructions. Most customer training is conducted remotely by video conference; occasional travel may be required, but is infrequent.
Product Updates and Testing
- Review and test new features, fixes, and product updates using realistic customer workflows. Document findings and help verify that reported issues are resolved.
- Learn how updates affect customers and help explain changes through training, support materials, and customer communications.
Collaboration with Product Development
- Translate customer questions, issues, and requested improvements into clear development tasks, including examples, steps to reproduce issues, and business impact.
- Create and maintain tasks for customer needs and general product improvements. Coordinate priorities with the team and communicate confirmed progress and next steps.
Core requirements
- At least five years of hands-on business process experience in operations, sales management, inventory, manufacturing, software implementation, or comparable business roles.
- Practical experience using ERP or other business management software, with a grounded understanding of how workflows connect across departments.
- Working knowledge of CRM, sales management, quoting, order fulfillment, inventory management, stock reduction as materials are used or items are shipped, and cycle counting.
- Understanding of manufacturing fundamentals, including materials, production steps, work orders, and the relationship between production, inventory, and fulfillment.
- Ability to connect real-world and offline business processes to software workflows, and to explain how system activity guides, records, and supports those processes.
Skills for success
- Clear written and verbal communication, including explaining software and business processes in straightforward language.
- Strong organization, time management, and prioritization, with reliable follow-through across multiple customers and projects.
- A self-starter who takes initiative, researches solutions, and moves work forward independently while keeping teammates informed.
- A patient, service-oriented approach, good questions, and sound judgment about when to involve a teammate.
- Confidence using a computer independently, including managing files, navigating web applications, and handling routine tasks and basic troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and video conferencing tools, including screen sharing, plus willingness to learn new applications.
- The ability to lead organized video meetings and training sessions with professional presentation, communication, and conduct.
- Attention to detail, responsible handling of customer information, and a collaborative approach to feedback and problem-solving.
Experience that is a plus
- Hands-on experience using Mothernode software.
- Experience in the signage industry, especially estimating, sales, project management, production, or business operations.
- Experience in account management, customer success, software support, implementation, training, or creating instructional content.
